I did a tour with a photographer friend round Bollington and this was one of the scenes on the tour. Bollington was a key town during the Industrial Revolution with many mills. The quarries above provided materials for building and the hillsides are criss-crossed with pathways leading to and from the quarries that would have been used by the mill and quarry workers. This one is a long narrow path with an amazing, snaking wall full of different shades of green, and at the top this lovely old blue/green shed.
Oil on canvas 10x12" framed in a white wood frame.
