Smoke Rising to Croker Hill £240
This is a view from Back Eddisbury Road towards Croker Hill, south of Macclesfield, on a bright winter's day. I liked the way the light caught the smoke as it drifted upwards and how vibrant the 'greens' were despite it being mid-winter. The radio tower on top of Croker Hill is the Sutton Common BT Tower which was build of reinforced concrete and was part of the 1950s 'Backbone' chain designed to provide NATO with survivable communications should there be a nuclear war.
Artwork size 60x45cm acrylic on canvas, unframed.
