I think it was the juxtaposition of the couple in the window bay and the statue outside that drew me to the idea for this painting. The statue is Joshua Reynolds in the courtyard of Burlington House, home of the Royal Academy. As you may be aware I was fortunate enough to have a piece accepted by the RA Summer Exhibition 2023 and this was where I had coffee to calm my nerves, after delivering my work for second round judgement.
